The birth and death of a woman

Is it possible for a woman, in her everyday life, to unravel her presence across the full spectrum of roles — from divine figure, to mother, to sexual and political being?

This series explores the discourse surrounding women — more precisely, the discourse on the stereotyping of women.

On a personal level, I was intrigued by all the stages a young being must go through to earn the title “woman.” Through the process of free association I attempted to examine myself and us, women, as part of the ongoing conversation: what makes a woman a woman?

Highlighting female sexuality and eroticism on one hand, while demystifying these concepts on the other, forms the core of my artistic practice.
